Frame distortion

Question:

When a new customer arrived to pick up his racquet, he immediately announced that I had distorted the frame. When he held it up against another similar racquet he had in his bag, the one I had just restrung was "rounder" in the hoop. I don't think I did anything wrong, but now the guy says I must have strung the racquet at the wrong tension, and he wants me to buy him a replacement frame. How can I tell if it is something I did, or a pre-existing condition?
